Keith Richards is a British guitarist who has been a member of the legendary rock group ‘The Rolling Stones’ since he co-founded it in 1962. With the band, Richards has enjoyed enormous success as not only the guitarist, but also as a songwriter and vocalist. In 2011, he was named the 4th greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. His songwriting partnership with Mick Jagger, the band’s lead vocalist, saw the duo claim 14 spots on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of 500 greatest songs. Some of these include ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’, ‘Sympathy For The Devil’, and ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’. In 1978, Richards released a cover of ‘Run Rudolph Run’ by Chuck Berry, his debut solo single, followed by a Jimmy Cliff cover of ‘The Harder They Come’. During the Stones’ hiatus, Richards formed the band ‘X-pensive Winos’ in 1987. They released two successful studio albums before The Rolling Stones returned to record and perform more music. Richards has had his fair share of bad publicity. He has been tried a few times for various drug-related incidents. Today, however, he seems to be more focused on working with the Stones and less on substance abuse. In 2008, he advertised for Louis Vuitton luggage and luxury bags. Keith Richards is known for wearing the cologne ‘Habit Rouge’ by Guerlain.
