Adele is a British musician and songwriter who is well known for her unique voice and rich vocals. She broke into the limelight in the year 2006 after being signed by XL Recordings. The following year was a big one for the then 18 year old Adele as she went on to scoop the Critics’ Choice award and the BBC’s Sound of 2008. Adele’s first album was launched in 2008 under the title ’19’ which was her age at that time. This album was well received and earned her two Grammy awards, a symbol of great success for a debut album. Her second album was released two years later and was also given a title based on her age, ’21’. This album saw greater success than the debut and enabled the young singer to receive the highest number of awards won by a female artist during a Grammy night.
