Paula Abdul, a renowned choreographer, was born on June 19, 1962 in San Fernando, California. She was a natural dancer who later on evolved as a singer, songwriter, choreographer, television personality and an actress. She started taking dance lessons at the age of eight. When she was in college, she became a cheerleader for Los Angeles Lakers. Within three months she became their head choreographer. Abdul’s distinct choreography landed her the job of an assistant dance-director for The Jackson 5. She went on to choreograph for several big stars, before becoming a pop-star in the ’80s, with ‘Straight Up’ – her debut album. All through her career, Abdul has been involved in over 37 prestigious choreography projects. As a singer, she won 11 awards and her worldwide album sales crossed 40 million records. She saw renewed fame as a judge on American Idol. She also judged the first season of The X Factor (American version) and the 10th season of So You Think You Can Dance (2013). In her personal life, Abdul married Emilio Estevez between 1992 and 1994. Later, she married Brad Beckerman, clothing designer, in 1996. However, they divorced in 1998. During her X-Factor days she was involved in a relationship with Simon Cowell. Paula Abdul is known for wearing the perfume Chantecaille Frangipane.
