Russell Crowe was born on April 7, 1964 in Wellington, New Zealand. He began his acting career as a child star on an Australian television show. Crowe’s first major break arrived in the form of two films – ‘Romper Stomper’ in 1992 and ‘The Sum of Us’ in 1994, which earned him fame throughout the Australian film community as well as in the neighboring countries. However, he became an international celebrity with successful films like ‘Gladiator’, ‘The Insider’, ‘A Beautiful Mind’, ‘L.A. Confidential’ and ‘State of Play’. He also appeared in the 2013 movie, ‘Man of Steel’, where he played Superman’s father Jor-El. Crowe won an Academy Award in the Best Actor category for the film ‘Gladiator’. Off-screen, Crowe and Australian singer Danielle Spencer married on 7 April 2003 i.e. on the day Crowe turned 39. Crowe has two sons from the marriage. However, the couple separated in October 2012. Crowe is known to have endorsed Barack Obama publicly and encouraged American citizens to vote for him. Russell Crowe is known for wearing Green Irish Tweed by Creed cologne.
