Marilyn Monroe

Norma Jeane Mortenson, famously known as Marilyn Monroe, was a 50s model-turned-actress-turned-singer from California, USA. Although she started her career as a model, Monroe landed a movie contract with Twentieth Century-Fox and shot to fame in the 1950s when she starred in a number of films. Her biggest commercial film success came in movies like ‘All About Eve’, ‘The Asphalt Jungle’ and ‘ Don’t’ Bother To Knock’. Her stunning looks, glamorous attire and seductive nature made her a huge sex symbol during that era. Sadly, her life was cut short when she developed a weakness for alcohol and drugs. On August 5th, 1962, Monroe died from an overdose of sedatives. Since her passing, many conspiracies surrounding her death, among other things, surfaced. One of which included what her actual favorite fragrance was. Monroe endorsed ‘Chanel 5’ in the 50s and claimed the scent is what she wore to bed; however, after her death it was discovered that she made a number of purchases of ‘Floris Rose Geranium’ perfume. Therefore, these two brands have been named as her favorite fragrances.
